Since the 1980s, automation and labor-saving have developed rapidly. The main methods of automation and labor-saving are: mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic. Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages and its most suitable range of use. Table 1-1 gives a comparison of the various power transmission and control methods. Any one way is not omnipotent, in the realization of production equipment, production line automation, labor-saving, must be compared to a variety of technologies, to build on their strengths and avoid weaknesses, and select the most suitable way or an appropriate combination of several ways, so that the equipment to achieve a more reliable, more economical, safer and simpler.
